Hiatus
This blog is taking a hiatus.
Not that it's readership is huge anyway, but still...I figured I'd let everyone who does happen on it know.
My house is still being remodeled -- and I don't mean something little. I mean two guys came in and removed all the carpet and tile, tore down a few walls, added a couple walls, and ripped out a bathroom and part of my kitchen. I'm staying at my parents' house because there is no possible way that I could live in mine at the moment. It's a disaster area and a construction zone.
I'm working on a second book for my agent and need to get the outline and first three chapters to her by the end of the month. No, the first book hasn't sold yet. One publisher has had it for over 2 months now and she is still convinced that it will sell, if not to that publisher then to another one. In the meantime, I sent her five fiction ideas, she picked the one she thought was the most marketable, and now I'm running with that one. Actually, it was my daughter's idea, so it's a co-author thing.
My clients are continuing to pick up and require more of my time. One of them went away due to his finances, which was unfortunate. I liked working with him, and I hope he returns when things improve for him. I have picked up several others, though, and continue to pick up more...and the ones I have are generally asking for more work because their projects are moving forward.
My mother had a stroke. (Yes, she'll be ok). Not much needs to be said about that. It was scary and now it's over, but life never really returns to normal because there are always worried lurking in the back of your mind.
If that's not enough to get me to stop and regroup, I'm not really sure what would be. I'll still try to post when I can or when something really important happens, and as soon as things change and I have more free time I'll be back with a couple posts a week or more. Until then, I just wanted to let everyone know that, if you don't see much new here, it isn't for lack of interest...life is just getting in the way.

I'm Still Here!!
I haven't blogged in so long...and I apologize! Life has been crazy! I know, I know, that's not a good excuse, but it's honestly the only one that I've got.
I've picked up a couple new clients, which is nice with the economy being a little bit uncertain.
Some of the clients who I haven't heard from in a while have come out of the woodwork to need things done.
I've decided to stay where I am instead of moving so I've been remodeling my house and doing things outside in the yard, too -- this is an ongoing thing that won't be done for about two months yet.
My daughter graduated high school.
And there's just been about a million different things pulling me in all directions at once. The list is too long to even go into. Ugh.
I just, and I do mean just, got caught up enough to start blogging again. I thought maybe I needed to reorganize things or do some things differently, but upon taking a breath and reassessing it, I find that I was just that busy for that long.
Still, though, I intend to update the blog more frequently from now on. My workload usually slows down a bit during the summer, so it'll be a good time to reassess everything again, reorganize things, and get into the blogging habit again. I'm looking forward to doing all that so I can get back into the busy fall season without feeling so scattered and stressed out.
I hope you'll stick around and be patient. :o)

Ok, Here I Am
Ok, I've officially moved the blog. Now it's attached to the Web site address like it's supposed to be. I know that probably doesn't matter to any of you but it was significant to me, because the '.de' Web address that I originally set the Web site and the blog up on would have expired in a while and then my blog would have simply disappeared -- I already moved the Web site. I didn't want the blog to suddenly go away, so I just switched it over now and pointed it to the '.com' address that's attached to the Web site. Now, as long as the Web site is around, the blog will be around.
I won't be taking the time to transfer my other posts from the old blog over to this blog. There are 62 of them on the original '.de' blog. It would be very time-consuming to move them, and I don't think that there was anything on there that I couldn't live without.
I also have to work on getting some people back on the blogroll...that may take a bit of time, but I haven't forgotten about you!
Despite that, though, the blog is now officially here to stay, which is one more thing to cross off of the 'to do' list.
